Since 1992 we have been managing the “Traunter Ovas” farm (between the streams) on the Sils plain in the second generation.

Our parents, Rudi and Fiorella Coretti, moved from Bergell to the upper Engadin in 1961 and dared to venture into winter tourism in combination with agriculture in the village center of Sils. In 1978 they built the new farm at the current location at the entrance to the village. The Coretti family lives in the house on the ground floor, grandmother Fiorella Coretti on the 1st floor and we rent 2 beautiful and cozy holiday apartments on the 2nd floor.

We, Gian and Catherine, took over the farm in 1990 and expanded it over the years. Together we have 3 wonderful sons. The eldest works in the company and dares to take the step of running the farm into the future, which we are very happy about. We employ 3 to 4 people who are mainly involved in the carriage operation, the care of the horses and cows and the haymaking. Today we have six couples and offer trips to the Fex Valley from the village square in Sils Maria in summer and winter.  

 

On our organic farm on the Sils plateau, we keep 15 Freiberg horses (Franches Montagnes, the only surviving Swiss breed) for the carriage operation. These horses are excellent draft horses and are therefore ideal for the demanding Fex Valley. In addition to our horses, we run a suckler cow farm with 12 cows (gray cattle, brown cattle and F1), calves and a bull. 9 chickens, the cat "Minnie" and the English setter "Arco" are also part of our small herd.
